JC CoolScience First Cohort of Advanced Teachers' Professional Development Trip to USA

In May 2025, JC CoolScience advanced teachers visited Washington D.C., United States to learn about the local science education practices. Facilitated by the Smithsonian Science Education Centre, this professional exchange enabled in-depth discussion with biodiversity experts on the knowledge and application of inquiry-based learning ("IBL") pedagogy. Through field visits to institutions, including Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History and Smithsonian Environmental Research Center, teachers explored effective strategies for integrating IBL elements into daily science teaching. Additionally, lesson observations at Washington Yu Ying Public Charter School offered practical insights for teachers for implementing IBL teaching practices.
