Curriculum Enrichment Adaptation for Primary Science and Teacher Professional Development
Last update : 27 Aug, 2025
The Beijing Normal University and the Smithsonian Science Education Centre, collaborating partners on the JC CoolScience project, provide evidence-based learning and teaching materials for the project. The Education University of Hong Kong, as the strategic partner of the project, works with both organisations to adapt Chinese Mainland and overseas teaching materials to align with the Hong Kong's Primary Science Curriculum Framework for local use.
During the programme's first year, teachers from 45 schools participated in professional development to understand and implement the adapted materials in classrooms. This initiative helps science educators develop solid foundation on inquiry-based learning (IBL) pedagogy, enabling them to effectively apply IBL methods to enhance students’ learning experiences.
